About Moon Valley: Moon Valley makes its home at Pragtri Farm, a member community of the Evergreen Land Trust. Pragtri has a rich historical base in organic agriculture, alternative energy, social justice, and educational outreach. Moon Valley continues this proud heritage as a sustaining partner of the community land trust movement. A portion of our proceeds and a dedication of our time goes to sustaining our local community promoting affordable housing, organic agriculture, appropriate technologies, and preserving farmland. We believe in giving back to our community, strengthening self-sufficiency, and promoting ecologically sustainable values. The strength of our business comes from the health and vitality of our family, friends, community, and the Earth.
As stewards of a community land trust, we care for the land that sustains of us. We build the soil fertility utilizing permaculture principles and whole system design. Our organic farming methods include crop rotation and cover cropping as well as sheet mulching with used cardboard and compost. We also integrate free-range chickens into our soil building practices to grow many of the herbs we use in our natural body care products and medicinal salves.
We believe that the most sustainable communities are those that include participation and insight from everyone involved. We engage our customers, our design, production, and sales teams, our suppliers, our bees, and the Earth in our work to create more sustainable world/communities. We invite feedback from the people who use our products.
We host trainings in non-violent communication and consensus decision making for our community and work teams. We actively check the integrity of all our suppliers and distributors. We spend time with the land, working in our gardens and tending our bees. We use only the finest natural ingredients in our products. The research, formulation and testing of our products is conducted by real people like you. We never test on animals.
The bulk of our ingredients are grown and processed in the Cascadia Bioregion (Coastal Temperate Rain Forests of North America) or meet high standards of integrity, quality and sustainability. |
